The single most important piece of marketing you will create is the announcement video.
It does not need to be expensive. It does need to be honest, specific, and warm.
The video should answer four questions, in this order:
- Who is invited?
- When?
- Where?
- Why this place, specifically?
You don’t have to list — it needs to feel like a real person inviting real people to come visit a real place.

A few principles:
- Find a local influencer. Look up who the people in your community with the biggest social media reach are, and ask them to do a video (or “the” video). Ask them to talk about what the community means to them personally.
- Use a real voice, not a marketing voice. Visitors can hear the difference. If you do not have a host or narrator who can speak naturally on camera, use a voiceover from someone who can, with footage of the place underneath.
- Show actual locations. Not stock footage or aerial drone shots of generic mountains. Show the bakery where you go on Saturdays, or the trail you walk, or the corner of downtown where the buskers play in summer. Visitors are coming to see your community, so let them see it.
- Be specific about the date. Vague "this spring" or "in May" videos won’t help.
- Keep it short. Sixty to ninety seconds is the sweet spot for social platforms. If you have more to say, say it on the website.
- End with a clear call to action. One website. One link. One sentence telling them what to do next.
