If you have never set up a Discord server before, the basics:

1. Create a free Discord account at discord.com.
2. Click the "+" button on the left sidebar to create a new server.
3. Choose "Create My Own" and then "For a club or community."
4. Name your server (e.g., "Springfield Infusion 2027").
5. Set up your channels.
6. Set up your roles and permissions (see below).
7. Generate an invite link and share it on your website. IMPORTANT! Change the Invite Link settings when you create the link to make it never expire.

This sounds hard.

It’s not hard, but you might want to find someone local with experience. Discord can be finicky.

Anything else to know?

Discord servers have a few important settings to configure:

Require email verification. This cuts down dramatically on spam accounts.

Set up a "rules" or "welcome" channel that new members must read before they can post anywhere else. Discord's "Membership Screening" feature handles this.

Set up basic roles. At a minimum, you want: Visitor, Local, Organizer, Moderator. Roles let you control who can post in which channels and let people identify themselves.

Discord can feel intimidating if you have never used it. There are dozens of YouTube tutorials.
