Trust is the cornerstone of journalism. To uphold integrity and ensure full transparency, I disclose relevant affiliations, financial interests, and potential conflicts that could influence my reporting.
Below, you’ll find a list of my political affiliations, financial holdings, outside work, and any other factors that may be relevant to my coverage. My goal is to provide clear, honest, and impartial reporting while allowing my audience to assess any potential biases.
I do not maintain or trade individual stocks. My family’s investment portfolio is managed by a financial advisor who invests our retirement funds in a variety of mutual funds and other pooled assets. I do not know the specific companies within these holdings and do not check them.
I do not receive financial compensation from corporations, think tanks, or lobbying organizations for my reporting. If I am invited to speak at an event with an honorarium, I will disclose the details.
I have no business ownership stakes, directorships, or financial interests in companies that could pose a conflict of interest with my work.
I have contributed to charitable organizations, but I do not sit on the board of any nonprofit groups. If I make significant charitable donations to causes that could relate to my coverage, I will disclose them.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I am politically active. Since February 2025, I have been a member of the federal Liberal party and sit on my local riding association’s board. (I am a director-at-large and not a member of its executive.) I am not formally affiliated with any party at the provincial level. Outside of membership fees, I don’t believe I have ever donated to a political party.
I have not attended any political fundraisers or policy discussions in a personal capacity. I do not receive compensation for political consulting, nor do I formally advise any political candidates.
I have some personal friendships and connections with individuals in politics, business, and media. While I strive for objectivity, relationships can introduce biases. Where relevant, I will disclose close personal ties to individuals or institutions featured in my reporting.
No external party—government, corporate, or private—has control over my editorial decisions. I am solely responsible for the content I produce, and I adhere to rigorous fact-checking and ethical standards.
