Congratulations! You did it!!!
So what now? The honest answer is: it depends on what your community wants.
Some communities will want to do it again next year, and they should. The first year of an Infusion is exhausting; the second year is much easier, because the structures (Discord, website, partner relationships, volunteer base) are already in place.
Some communities will want to do something different. The Infusion model can be adapted to other contexts. A Healthcare Infusion for a specific specialty. A weekend focused on a different audience (artists, retirees, remote workers). A series of smaller weekends rather than one large one.
Some communities will be done after one weekend. That is fine. A successful one-time event that brought hundreds of visitors, generated local press, and gave residents a reason to feel proud of their community is a complete success on its own.
The signals to watch for:
Strong signal to continue: Visitors are asking when the next one is. Local businesses are saying it was their best weekend of the year. Volunteers are asking how to get involved next time. The Discord is still active a month after the event.
Mixed signal: The event was successful but the organizers are exhausted. Some partners want to continue, some do not. Visitor feedback is positive but not enthusiastic.
Signal to wind down: The event was a lot of work and not much visible benefit. Volunteers are burned out. Partners did not gain what they hoped. Local media coverage was limited.
There is no shame in any of these outcomes. The Infusion model is not a franchise. Each community runs the version that makes sense for it.
